Juliet Sampson has always had a love of stories
from a very young age. Story time at the library, live theatre and her
parents reading to her are all fond memories from her childhood. At school, in
her spare time, she would write short stories and poems and in her final year,
Juliet enjoyed working on the school magazine committee. Having developed a
love for literature, she embraced a career in primary teaching. This allowed
Juliet to share her love of reading, writing and storytelling with the next
Teaching children about letters and sounds in the early years was an area Juliet thoroughly enjoyed but this was not enough. Juliet wanted her words and voice to reach a larger audience. She dreamed of making a difference in many more peoples’ lives and connecting with others all around the world. Writing books would allow her to do this.
Juliet’s genre is contemporary realism. In 2008, she decided to reduce her teaching hours and commit to writing her first young adult novel, Behind the Mask, which was published in 2011 by Brolga Publishing. In 2013, her second young adult novel, Bon Voyage! was published. On her writing journey, she has been fortunate to undertake Bryce Courtenay’s and Fiona McIntosh’s Master Classes. This has further inspired Juliet to follow her dreams and keep writing.
Juliet M. Sampson is the author of best-seller, Behind the Mask. Her second novel is Bon Voyage! Juliet was inspired to write Bon Voyage! as she travelled the world visiting over twenty-one countries. She is currently writing her third novel.
Juliet feels we are all on a journey and life has so far taught her so many important lessons. It is through these lessons that we learn. She wants to help others of all ages. We can all learn from each other.
Now at the age of 33, she lives in Melbourne near the bay where she is surrounded by family and friends. Juliet’s other passions are travelling, dancing and doing voluntary work for charity.
